On the RODI system you might want a 3 way valve on your production line as well (Reef pure sell them as a "Resin saver upgrade kit"). It helps to save the DI resin in conjunction with flushing, especially if you have a TDS reading between your membrane and DI. Since adding the flush valve and resin saver kits to my setup it lasts way longer.

I make ~100L at a time so I flush for 5mins before each fill and set the 3 way valve to dump all water until the TDS out of the membrane is back down to ~2 so it doesn't send high TDS water burning through your resin. Hopefully that makes sense!

Sam, before you operate the flush kit, make sure the exit end of your waste water line is well secured. During membrane flushing, the water pressure through this line is much higher than normal operation. If not well secured you will be spraying waste water all over the place!

System looks awesome as always! I love the big colonies but i understand your temptation for fresh real estate, especially with the incredible aussie wild pieces that come in

19:00 In my tank, detritus never builds up anywhere as I use wave/surge devices, every single spot in the tank gets hit by flow and both the fish and I love it. My tank is a "riparium" lagoon tank with ice plants and mangroves as well as a coral estuary. I hate the noise though, i'm looking at the panta rhei surge pumps but they will probably cost way too much.

Tank looking epic. Of those three options I would bonsai most of the big pieces and remove any pieces that dont bring instant joy when you wander past everyday. Looking forward to watching your progress in 2025 😊

Hi mate, happy new year. glad to see the tank is doing so well, looks amazing as always. Seeing as the tank looks so good, what do you think about adding more footage of the tank to the videos as you do the voice over? I know we are all interested to hear your thoughts but also I definitely want to see more of the tank at the same time! all the best mate.

Always love seeing the dream reef tank! It’s looking absolutely amazing and I personally feel like the idea of a natural looking, not so manicured reef is stunning. In the wild it’s always survival of the fittest and the same happens in a confined space too.

Maybe a small trim just to replicate what might happen to sps in the wild through coralivores like parrot fish might be good but regardless, I love the way it looks now!

Definitely a delicate balance isnt it when adding new fish. Especially since Mag fox face are so shy. Your Chromis are so underrated the really fill the tank. Love your content mate

Pulling out entire colonies in a mature tank is a loosing battle. We think of it as a blank canvas, but the surrounding mature corals will eat that space in no time. In my experience it has been almost impossible to keep that blank space blank, when the corals have that size. No frag will survive, and you end up having to cut down the other mature corals by 30% anyway! So I strongly recommend the 30% treatment on the entire tank. The tank is mature and done. Rejoice that you made it there.

Any time, mate. The Blade Grow looks a treat! I curious to see what you think of the Glow and Grows on the tank. It does look impressive IMHO. Cheers to another 5+ years with the dream reef. Btw I’d do 30% trim!!
