You're absolutely right about the input/output knob (the lower right), especially in relation to the master knob. It's monitor for a reason, so that you can A/B a little easier. I don't have this unit yet (in the mail, arrives Friday) but I really appreciate you taking the time to put this together.

You might want to remind people that if they are using MacOS Sierra, they need to download the new driver Akai EIE Pro_3.3.17 driver.

Gain input knobs: "Up is to the right- down is to the left."
If you need to be told that, you may not be ready for this!
Seriously though, this is VERY thoughtfully done,
particularly if someone is new to computer based recording.
My current input device is working just fine- but it has NONE of the features of this little sweetheart:
The input jacks-
the meters (in or out!),
the usb hub,
the mono switch (more useful than one might think),
The monitoring features (!)
(and it LOOK bad-ASS!)

@KennyBfromQueens yeah i was searching for a audio interface for a minute and it had the most inputs/outputs for $250 i got my latency down to 7ms and sounds great i recommend it for a entry level audio interface the next is a motu then a rme

curious, it states the cable length is limited to around 10m, are you able to test for us whether you able to reach up to 100' and more? I've been searching for an interface for field tests but it's been a problem finding information regarding this.

I bought it like 5 or 6 years ago, it has good sound quality over all, but 0 client support, the drivers last update was in 2013, nothing after that, and for those of you who want to live stream or record a video presentation or show for your YouTube, twitch channel, just forget it. And there is no one from AKAI to give answers/solutions for these problems. Sorry bout that cause it is very solid, beautiful, retro all time classic construction, with descent sound as it is an expander as well with dsp (Digital Signal Processor) for lower PC Processor use....
I was expecting more than that from AKAI...
