NEW FOR 2022: Reef Plunge at Aquatica Orlando!

These are the new Reef Plunge slides at Aquatica, SeaWorld's Water Park, in Orlando, Florida. Formerly known as Dolphin Plunge, these two body slides were completely replaced and rethemed for the 2022 season. Guests now slide through a tube with translucent effects in the shapes of stingrays, dolphins and fish. The slides still feature the signature "fish tank" section through a large aquarium which is now home to a new Commerson's dolphin habitat.

The slides were also equipped with a new landing area. Instead of the old plunge pool, both slides now end in shallow runout lanes, allowing for a faster dispatch and therefore better capacity.

Dies sind die beiden "Reef Plunge" Wasserrutschen im Aquatica Orlando, Florida, USA. Die ehemals unter dem Namen "Dolphin Plunge" bekannten Bodyslides wurden zur Saison 2022 komplett ausgetauscht und bieten nun verschiedene Daylight-Effekte in Form von Rochen, Delfinen und Fischen. Nach wie vor rutscht man am Schluss durch eine lange Glasröhre, die durch ein riesiges Aquarium führt, in welchem mittlerweile Commerson-Delfine schwimmen.

Die Rutschen wurden zudem mit einem neuen Landebereich ausgestattet: Während die alten Rutschen mit einem Plumpsauslauf in einem großen Becken endeten, verfügt Reef Plunge über Flachwasser-Auslaufbecken, was einen schnelleren Dispatch und damit eine bessere Kapazität ermöglicht.

I remember when I did ride dolphin plunge years ago. It really was amazing. I didn't even know until now that it had gone through changes. Still looks amazing!

This is a great renovation plus because the old dolphin plunge wasn’t the smoothest slide but this looks like it definitely helped

I went on these last spring. I'm assuming by new, you just mean they redid the chutes...? because I don't remember seeing all those sea-animal shaped lighting effects. It was mostly just pitch black until the clear tube part where you really couldn't see much anyway because of all the water splashing in your face.

just went on it, a little disappointed about the glass being foggy but it's understandable because they need to use glass that won't break
