Imagine yourself completing about 100 hours of the game yet you are not fully satisfied yet and redo the whole game. Thats how good Elden Ring is.

To me this is the best game in the last 10 years mostly because, despite not being perfect, it feels like it was made with absolute conviction in itself. It's basically a violent rejection of modern gaming in many ways (which is why Ubisoft, Sony and a lot of other AAA devs are angry at it), and possibly not even intentionally, it's just made by people who care about video games a lot and wanted to deliver the game of their dreams, not an engineered product made to max out engagement metrics and revenue, that treats its players like lab rats. It's like a game straight from the late 80s or early 90s in spirit.
Up there with the old classics imo.

The reveal of the capital city when u walk out onto those ramparts sealed it for me. Absolutely gorgeous 10/10

It hit me tonight after seeing all the amazing stuff after 80 Hours and getting to the Capital and seeing inside the Capital for the first time. This is the best game I've ever played and I'm 37 years old. It's going to take something special to top this one.

For a game to beat Elden Ring for GOTY it would have to be pretty remarkable. Elden Ring's Open World Structure, Combat Depth, Social Engagement, and Scalable Challenge have combined to make it one of the best Games ever made. Keep in mind that it's a February release and most of us already know that nothing better is coming in just this year alone. There might be good games this year but nothing will topple Elden Ring.

Ever since I got into the Souls series, I've always thought Fromsoft's style of storytelling and gameplay when combined with openworld is just a formula for success. And the mad men there really did it.

My question how did they make such a big and vast open world yet ff7 remake had to shrink everything to Midgar? We could have done without the whole side story with the ghost. Game is beautiful but I feel like they limited themselves alot

Masterpiece. GOTY no doubt. The only two things I can complain is NG+(2nd journey at least is too ez) and PvP. I like ER PvP, but mostly Bleed mech and some weps like RoB ruins all the fun. If devs fix it and introduce some arena, that would be perfect
