Been working on this on and off for a few months and I’m finally done! A fun little PMV with baby Darkstalker, how cute :)
I made the designs and gore a bit more simplified this time to sort of channel the old VHS/Jack Stauber feel. Arctic and Foeslayer aren’t too accurate to their canon selves but I wanted to emulate the feeling of the original music video.

I love how creative this is, I never see anything about baby darkstalker and how potentially creepy he could be. on another note, heres all of the things i love about this!

I love the way he looks so innocent, those big blue eyes and a ring around his head (just like a halo) in the beginning. I love how arctic and foeslayer look so genuinely happy when (in the books) arctic wasn't too happy during darkstalkers hatching. I love how it cuts from foeslayer being happy to being cursed to die, arctic being alive and happy to dying. I absolutely love how darkstalker literally has blood on his hands from directly and indirectly killing his parents and a ring around his hands (showing animus magic) and around him, making him seem like an angel or a god and i love how his wings also show this. I love how right after it shows his wings almost protecting him (his animus magic being the holiness? maybe? it also protected him from being harmed). The exhausted and desperate suffering really show in arctic and foeslayer (which is really hard to do imo). And finally, I love how it cuts to darkstalker, still in the same position as before

Another thing I like to keep in mind while rewatching this is that, while wings may be able to give you freedom, they can also be a curse

Side note: I really love how blue his eyes are and how his animus magic is a deeper blue, similar to Icewing blood. I think the blue of his eyes really connect him to his father and to the icewings. I also like how it distances him from foeslayer, who has green eyes.

OH MY GOD I CANNOT GET OVER THIS IVE WATCHED IT ABOUT 2 THOUSAND TIMES. KALLLL god ik i say this with everything but your expressions just get me every time and the uncanny vibe here is immaculate, absolutely loving the horrible creepy energy and disdain and just pure exhaustion of the parents- the shot of darkstalker with the blood coming from his hands is SO COOL this turned out AMAZING

I just noticed something while re-watching, but Arctics Tongue is actually shown being cut off during the "Can he go away?" part of the video, a nod towards right before Arctics death where DarkStalker orders him to cut off his own tongue. A very small detail but one that shows how much effort and thought was put into this for our enjoyment. Amazing work Kaliido_scope!
