Officially known as the Millennium Dam, and often regarded as the Hidase Dam, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is found on the Blue and is a gravity dam in Ethiopia whose construction began in 2011. It is located in Benishangul-Gumuz, 45km east of the border with Sudan. Before we see how the gravity dam almost emptied the Nile, it is important that we understand the background of this grand establishment.
