Mariupol residents struggle for survival as Russian siege of Ukrainian port city continues

Russia has announced that it will scale back military operations near Kyiv and the city of Chernihiv at the end of the latest round of negotiations to end the one-month old war in Ukraine. The southeastern city of Mariupol, which has come under heavy bombardment from Russian forces, has seen some of the worst fighting since the start of the conflict. Nearly 5,000 people are believed dead and thousands remain stranded in the port city. City officials estimate that about 90 per cent of residential buildings in Mariupol have been affected by active fighting, out of which some 40 per cent have been completely destroyed.

People in war threatened cities take note. One of the most important things you can have is food, and whatever you can’t carry, you must leave behind. You can even see someone carrying belongings in a wheelbarrow. Some kind of cart will increase your carrying capacity. Vests with pockets as well. Wool clothing that will keep you warm. Things to carry raw food such as fish, like the woman mentions, such as stuff sacks / reusable grocery bags
