The Faction Problem in Vanguard... (My Opinion/Feedback)

Call of Duty Vanguard has made the controversial decision to eliminate factions entirely which means we now have "Team A" vs "Team B" and your teammates can look literally identical to your enemies. Today I wanted to share my opinions on this decision as well as some feedback that I feel could help alleviate the gameplay issues this brings. What do you think of the lack of factions in Vanguard?

I miss when CoD had unique factions not just between the games but also between the maps. If you fought on the Eastern Front, it would be the Red Army vs the Wehrmacht. If you fought in pacific islands, the Marine Raiders would fight against the Imperial Japanese Army, and so on. There would be no illogical crossovers between factions and no far fetched backstories. Unfortunately the sales of character skins has most likely killed classic factions in CoD.

"Almost nobody's gonna have the exact same outfit anyway"
And here I am playing against 120 Rozes in every Warzone match..

This is a deal breaker for me. The fact that they aren't willing to put nazis in a WW2 game is spineless and pathetic

I didn't even realize no factions was a key point. I thought it was just a beta limitation, wow that sucks. They definitely need to add factions back. No factions in a WW2 setting is the dumbest thing they could have done.

What I like about factions in several cods are the cool spawn themes for each team.

I remember back in the bo2 days where you could have up to 6 factions and how cool it was seeing 6 different teams duke it out. Then ghosts started the trend of only having 2 factions on every map, and it's been that way now, where factions just no longer exist. It's a small thing, but I personally don't like it.

Think of how cool it would be to play on Eagles Nest (which is literally modeled after Hitler’s Bavarian mountain top retreat) and the two faction were the 101st airborn vs the SS… like that would be historically accurate and make the game more immersive

I remember my grandpa telling stories about his time in ww2. "you see johnny, back then I was fighting for my team, against the infamous enemy team"

The fact that there's no factions and only one multiplayer announcer should be the dead giveaway that they had to slap this game together after Sledgehammer got booted off of Cold War to make this game. It actually makes Cold War look more polished by comparison.

To me at least it is pretty outrageous to not even having distinct factions in the game, WW2 was all about alliances and countries fighting alongside each other (even if not necessarily coordinated)

No factions is a definite dealbreaker for me, a WWII setting without factions doesn’t feel like a WWII game

This seems like an absolutely staggering decision to make in a World War 2 game. To me this sounded like a weird beta limitation that wouldn't be there in the final game, but to hear that this is simply how it'll be is crazy to me. To see a Japanese and an American operator fighting a Soviet and a German one is going to be extremely jarring.

Can't wait for 1st store bundle when every single character on the map is literally the same!

As a hardcore player, having no factions seems like a very stupid decision on behalf of the developers.

I love how they keep going 3 steps back instead of improving the game

"Hanzel, are we ze bad guys?"

*The two German soldier look above their heads to an 'Enemy Team' floating above them*

"Ya."

The problem is also that with no factions I suspect that we will never get a German/Italian or Japanese operators

As a HC player, I can only hope they give you ricochet damage and not kill a teammate outright, cause I hate accidentially killing someone on my team and if you have enemies and teammates looking the same, I can see this becoming a serious issue. Overall this is just an odd design choice.... I mean why would a design lead think 'yeah lets make everyone look alike in a WWII shooter, cause that will be enjoyable for the player base' . Just damn odd.

To be honest it's confusing to play the game when the enemy team haves the same character as your team

How can you possibly have no factions in a WW2 game
