Hauptwerk Combination Organ

Select stops from different sample sets were combined to create a much more flexible (and larger) organ. This project was performed by Subbass32 of Haupwerk Custom Organs, or was it Custom Hauptwerk Organs. I think it dispels the concerns of those that think combining "wet" sample set stops from different locations will result in a final combination that is not good.

Mr. Scott....Thanks, so much for your videos...MORE, MORE, MORE (please) You REALLY need to get the Salisbury and/or Hereford Cathedral organs for your GREAT instrument....( superb English pipe organs...Father Willis instruments) BTW..Subbass is sub-bass as in baseball or the bass section in a choir..  not bass as in the fish...hope you don't mind the correction!!

The sample set is readily available from Subbass32. Jake and I just called it the Combination Organ I. I created the specification to be a large Baroque-like organ. It has over 100 stops but is lacking in many color stops. Jake is working on a new organ for me with over 150 stops, many many color stops, etc. It should address the shortcomings of the Comination Organ. I can't say more about Jake's ability to create these sample sets. About three or years ago I believe I was the fist person to use his talents. We started out with several small "experiments" to lay rest to the rumors, or belief, that stops from one organ could play together with stops from another. The big question was "would the different reverberation times work together ? ". Once we discovered that they would play together without interference, it was easy to add more stops. I was pleased to hear that the stops with a short reverb just ended sooner than the long reverb and it wansn't even noticeable. In fact, if stops from and organ were played on one manual and sops from another organ on a different manual, the effect was even more exciting because it gave the overall impression of a stereo separation. Its hard to explain. When played together there was no problem.
