I'll stay with Apple products, the extra cost is not an issue for me and I want the best products available.

Thank you for the clarification. I thought magsafe had qi1 or q2 technology

Something that should be noted! You can buy magsafe attachment rings for your non-iPhone devices: essentially giving your cellphone pseudo qi2 for when the actual chargers come out. Once again, this is for non-iPhone devices (Android cellphones). Cheers!

Hi AI, I am considering buying the Anker Qi2 3 in 1 foldable charger to use with my Apple iPhone 12 Pro max with a compatible Magsafe case. Would this combination work OK do you think, or would you even advice it? many thanks. Terry Davis

The Apple Watch charging to MagSafe/Qi 2 like lightning to USB-C.

My problem with Qi charging is that I have to remove my case from the phone to use it! Maybe the Anker charging base is inadequate to the task, or the fact that my case is equipped with a metal plate for magnetic mounting in my car. Either way, the inconvenience of the Qi charger is just not worth the hassle. Charging via cable works great, and I don't need to remove my phone's case to use it. A lot of folks don't use a case with their phones, but the iPhone is so slippery I would not use it without a case.

I would love a 5 watt Apple MagSafe charging solution. I leave my iPhone plugged in overnight.

Qi2 makes most sense for in vehicles and when built into flat or vertical surfaces such as lamp stands and table surfaces, where the central location isn't as obvious as it is with dedicated wireless chargers. Qi1 works fine in homes. But I guess Qi2 is rumoured to be faster, i.e. 15W rather than 7.5W. But the magnets themselves are mostly useful in the aforementioned categories, for vehicle dashboards etc.

40w+ Qi chargers have existed for many years now, so explaining Qi2 as a 15w Qi charger makes no sense. There must be something more to the new standard.

I believe the iPhone 14 Pro does benefit from QI2 charging at full speed of 15 W. Somebody double check me on that though please

Which chargers are available that are not made by child slave labor in factories belonging to a country that is actively trying to destroy the United States? I'd like to buy that one.

Some Android phones support 50w or more wireless charging. Apple is behind for a flagship device and need catching up

I have a mixture, where speed is more important I have a MagSafe, where it doesn’t matter I’m happy to take the slower charging standard and the smaller hit to my wallet. I suspect it would be no different with Qi2, although unless something extra gets added to MagSafe it would become, which charger do I prefer

I hope Apple comes out with a new Magsafe charger for the iPhone 15/Pro series, with faster charging speeds of at least up to 20W. I’ll probably stick to made for Magsafe chargers, to ensure maximum speed and reliability.

I don't get people that use apple magsafe. The magsafe charger has a wire that needs to be plugged in. Just use the normal power adapter it's also faster. Apple magsafe isn't wireless it literally has a wire😂
