Speaking as someone who just rewatched all your Sekiro streams in the past week or so, I respect the hell out of you for continuing to stand by that Sekiro/Bugs Bunny gag.

i went back to bloodborne after beating elden ring and the combat is crazy good, i have no idea why they decided to make the player slower when most enemies and bosses are hyper aggressive, but yeah Bloodborne till this very day remains my favorite.

Says the original dark souls in clunky, has DS2 above both DS3 and DS

For me lowest to highest:
Demon's souls, DS2, DS1, bloodborne, DS3, elden ring, sekiro

Elden ring and sekiro are really a tier above the rest imo, but sekiro wins it in the end because the combat is so damn satisfying. i can fight some of its bosses 50 times over and I wont get bored while in elden ring the open world fatigue started to set in about halfway through, yes...sometimes big is just too big...at least for me

I don't understand how someone can call Ds1 slow and clunky but rank 2 as their second favourite. 2 is even slower and more clunky (8 movement directional points is this 1997???) not to forget the hit boxes that are also from 1990.

DS1 is my favorite, above DS3, BB, Elden Ring, which is also an unusual opinion but it being at no 7 gave me a heart attack

Elden Ring makes me think of a modernized King's Field; The exploration, the massive amounts of enemies, the numerous memorizations of locales to get from Point A to Point B in a story. It seems like Dark Souls' overall feel was to create arenas for you to find and engage in, adapting to each new environment, which is NOT a bad design idea in the slightest but it's nice to throw in some variety, and back when PS1 was young, the concept of King's Field was pretty huge as it delved into ideas that would later be heavily popularized with the Elder Scrolls games.

Elden Ring feels like the grandaddy of Elder Scrolls came back, shoved them aside, and said "Here, kiddo, this is how you do it." To some extent, I'd say that even Breath of the Wild got the ole' shove and push because while it may be a huge game, it lacks in character and exploration in the ways that Elden Ring seems all too excited to give to you immediately. In Skyrim, you find quests and complete them. Rinse and repeat. In BotW, you find shrines and complete them. Rinse and repeat. In Elden Ring, you explore, find a massive new dungeon filled with a boss that is almost always guaranteed to make you wanna kill yourself and when you KNOW that's what to expect, the sheer giddiness of exploration fills your "dark soul" and you go full-on Dark Souls on this Dark Souls game.

It's basically the same feeling of the original Legend of Zelda on the NES cranked up to a number that we've yet to discover and that's a great thing to see exploration-heavy games do since it's become all too common lately to just create these vast sandboxes with barely anything to do in them. All too common that you get a game that SEEMS huge but is actually quite small when you really get into it. Elden Ring may not be as large as BotW or maybe even Skyrim but it FEELS bigger than those games because of the sheer amount of shit you're able to do in it.

Bloodborne is my top, easily. I just love the faster gameplay style and the Lovecraftian horror angle. Elden Ring is a close second, just for the sheer amount of it as well as an incredibly interesting world. I’ve not finished it yet, cause I’m trying to take my time and savor it, but I’m getting there. DS3 is 3rd. It’s the game I’ve played the most in the series. I think I took my OG file to NG+7 and two other subsequent saves to NG+3 or 4. I just played the shit out of it, but I guess because of that, the appeal kinda wained over time. It got to a point where I felt like could basically beat the game blindfolded. Still a great game, just not “the best”. After that it would probably be DS2: Scholar of the First Sin and Demon’s Souls PS5. I’ve only played through each of them once, basically just to say I did it. It took me a while to get into DS2 because I started it after coming off Bloodborne, and well, to say it’s a bit sluggish, even at 60 fps, is an understatement. I picked up a PS3 version of Demon’s Souls years ago to try and play it, but it’s basically non-playable now. Couldn’t do it. Finally played the remake on PS5 and had a much better time, though like Albino, the crappy and archaic game design that carries over lessened the enjoyment overall. DS1 I never got around to playing. The remaster isn’t that great, and I just didn’t feel like putting myself through the slog that would be playing it so many years after it’s prime. I’ve watched tons of other people play it though, so I’m familiar enough with it. Sekiro I couldn’t finish. I’m shit at parrying. Always have been, always will be. So to make a game that basically relies on it in order to be able to effectively fight anything, pretty much pushed me right out of it. I got to like, maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through, saw that it wasn’t getting any easier for me, and just gave up. Incredibly disheartening, but it’s just what it was for me.

I respectfully disagree with some of your ranking placements, and i also give you mad props for putting Dark Souls 2 so high! I love that game a lot but I am always reminded of how “bad” it is when i bring it up, glad to see other people enjoy it wholeheartedly!

Yeah I did the exact same thing with playing the Dark Souls series backwards, 3 was my first and is probably tied with Bloodborne as my favorite. While I did play 1 and 2 later and appreciated for what they were, it felt like everything was swimming in mud for how slow they played

Oh boy darks souls 2... it goes to show you how strong nostalgia is. A lot of people's fav game was their 1st souls until Elden Ring (at least for the large majority)

I've been subscribed for years but hearing Albino say DS2 is his favorite when it's also mine, bro I just fell in love.

You make a lot of valid points honestly! I didn’t personally play Sekiro, but here is my list for the rest:
1. Dark Souls III
2. Elden Ring
3. Bloodborne
4. Demon’s Souls
5. Dark Souls
6. Dark Souls II

If you ever do feel like a bloodborne replay, you don't need a mod to get most of the weapons early. The extensive chalice system and discovered false depth codes will let you get what you want right after bloodstarved beast. So if you beeline, you can have burial blade and its variants right after your second boss.

My heart was beating faster and faster because dark souls 2 was getting ranked higher and higher than I thought it was gonna, I love that game

I think that’s the great part about this series is that none of the games are really worse then any others, some just mesh with people better so even though I don’t entirely agree with the rankings, I don’t find myself being confused by your positions
