An emotional Ian Poulter gives his thoughts on Europe's Ryder Cup defeat. Poulter said he finds the result tough to take, not knowing if he'll be back at another Ryder Cup event. Poulter also defended Pádraig Harrington's captaincy, suggesting it would be unfair to put the blame of the defeat onto him.

As an American I am obviously proud of Team USA...But Mr. Poulter, hold your head up high. You and Team Europe bring it all the time. Great competitors you all are. Great golfers and great people. Look forward to the next one. These are always fun. I wish there were more team events.

I'm an American, and for most of my life, the Ryder Cup has been more heartbreak than joy, thanks to European players like none other than Ian Poulter, who always had a knack for pulling off the most jaw-dropping stuff I've seen in golf as he helped his teams deliver some serious thumpings to Team America over the last 30 years. So Ian, stand tall and take pride, both you and your team, because Team Europe has long been earning and deserving the respect of us fans over here.

As an American I feel bad for paddy he's always been one of my favorite golfers and he's such a stand up guy. Also his YouTube tutorials are top notch! He will be questioned for sure but on paper the American team was by far stronger. I think even Tom Watson could have lead this is team to victory lol

Class interview. Team USA was loaded this year and I’m very happy with the outcome. Ian & Rory bleed European Ryder Cup and seeing their emotional response to a devastating loss shows that. I’m American, (63% Scandinavian - go Viktor! & the rest English) but we all love golf and this competition.

I'm very new to golf (started literally a month ago) but since doing so I have fallen in love with the sport and the emotion that the players have is just incredible. Seeing Rory's interview you could just tell how sad he was.

This goes beyond golf and indeed beyond sport. This is humanity, entertainment, friendship, teamwork and a microcosm of the little boat we all sail on.

Thank you.

Bravo to the winners. That’s all of you

‘The Postman’ always delivers even if it’s a late delivery. Hope we see him in our next team.

I’m an American and was of course rooting for the US team, but this guy right here is what makes the Ryder Cup so great. He brings so much passion and emotion to the course every time it comes around. What a competitor. He’s been a thorn in our sides for decades but I have nothing but respect for how he approaches this event. If this is it, thank you Ian for helping make the Ryder Cup what it is. Hats off on an outstanding career. Well done, Sir.
