If the movie was only about this one part it would still be powerful. Arrius, for all he achieved was a man without faith or hope, ready to just lay down and die while a mere slave stayed true to himself and his faith. When Judah Saved him he wouldnt let him take his own life or grant him death, not out of any kind of loyalty, but because he didn't share his belief that his life was worth throwing away and in the end he was right.

Another powerful scene from William Wyler's Ben-Hur released in 1959. It deserves its eleven Academy Awards (or Oscars). Jack Hawkins is excellent. Charlton Heston is legendary. A masterpiece epic movie.

I love the way the slave Judah verbally repeats the Roman Generals words back at him on the raft.
Almost like the slave Judah is mocking the Roman with the Romans own words.
