KGB: "you just fell out of political favor"
Nikita: "Ok"

I wouldn’t say that’s a fortunate end.

KGB: Step down
Khrushev: Sure, this job was too hard anyway

well that's a relatively peaceful coup

His handling of Cuban Crisis was mostly a bluff that got rid of missiles on USSR's border and forced dialogue between USA and USSR. Meanwhile continuation of Chinese Civil War and instigation of Korean War is a statement about what stalinists wanted instead. Khrushchev was okay with political victories, his opposition wanted material gains.

Suprisingly, this is something Kruschev wanted. Not the removal part, but when someone falls out of favor and is maybe a political problem, they usualy get their ticket punched to remove them. The fact Kruschev was given a choice to leave, it was a win for him. A good step out of Stalin's shadow

I'd say that's a pretty sweet deal considering all the worse possibilities, like Siberia.

His villian arc was not being able to visit disneyland

Wasn't Colonel Volgin behind it!?!?

Nixon visited him, once, I believe, around 1966. As for his retirement, Khrushchev considered one of his greatest contributions to the USSR to be the fact that he left office, in the first place, and wasn't executed or imprisoned. This is a mixed bag, of course, as his relaxing of purges led to the accumulation of pragmatists that ended up dissolving the USSR.

Nobody dared to do the same when Stalin was alive. So, that means, his program, de-stalinization, was successful.

Nobody in the west liked Yuri Andropov more than Khrushchev.

Well considering that in his first speech as Head Secretary of the USSR, 99% of the affirmations that he made were lies, I would consider his end a peacefull one.
