How Presidents Govern: Crash Course Government and Politics #14

This week Craig Benzine talks about how the President gets things done. Filling the role of the Executive Branch is a pretty big job - much too big for just one person. It's so big that the President employs an entire federal bureaucracy! Today, we’re just going to focus on those closest to the President, like the Vice President, the Cabinet, and the Executive Office of the President. We’ll figure out which strategy is most useful in helping the President make things happen and we’ll discuss the controversy around the President’s gradual increase in power. Oh, and as many of you noticed - last episode eagle got off too easy. Let’s see if we can make it up to you.

Being a postal worker, I'll have you know that the Post Office is actually incredibly profitable. It just happens to also be in a great deal of debt because the majority of it's reserve funds were taken away from it by the federal government to subsidize social security in the late 90s. The recession didn't help the Post Office at all, thus the many post office shutdowns. But now that the economy is improving, the Post Office is doing fairly well. We're all just hoping the feds don't take more money from us. Because we've almost got ourselves out of the hole financially speaking.

I honestly can't thank you enough. Lately I've been procrastinating in my AP world history class, and I did nothing. But every since we watched your videos in our class, I've been hooked. I watch your history and science channel and every other channel. You have helped me through a lot of tests and helping me into getting higher then a C. Thank you so much, and continue to make videos so I can graduate and not become homeless.

Thank you so much for these videos! The few you've published have helped me study a lot for the AP gov test tomorrow. I really appreciate how fluidly the videos cover vocabulary, because that's what the test primarily consists of. I would suggest keeping the clones in consistently similar clothes for the places/things they represent. That way there can be a visual association :) Thank

In my country, cigarettes are still advertised on TV albeit without any depiction of a person smoking. Smoking is pretty much the norm here. We have smokers as young as age 10. It's horrible.

The Patriots Act is an example of an Executive Order.
Engineer a situation that justifies the use of an Executive Order and one can almost do anything they like.

Informational & Entertaining, but I wish this series would have been stared in time to be finished for the AP US GOV test this year.... Tuesday May 12... It will help future generations though.
