I absolutely love this slightly cynical, experienced Peter in the role of a mentor/father figure to Miles. Every other cinematic Spider-Man EVER has made him out to be a bright-eyed, naive idealist (which is great in its own right) but this Peter is grizzled and looks like he's one high-stakes supervillain-fight away from a midlife crisis, sort of like what Rian Johnson did to Luke in The Last Jedi. It's a completely new dynamic.


And of course, gotta love Spider-Ham!! I bet no one ever thought they'd see something that crazy on the silver screen.

Something i find interesting about this movies animation is how the characters still look natural even when staying still. In 2d animation this is a normal thing but in 3d keeping a character completely still even when not doing anything leaves them looking completely dead and and unnatural so 3d animators often have to animate idle animations, even if its just a character breathing. but in this movie, i think because of its visual aesthetic and playing around with framerates there are shots like in 0:51 where they appear natural in their still poses.
