TO GWALIA: I really enjoyed your video, because of the good story telling, but also the very good use of illustrations. I enjoyed seeing some of the old texts and illustrations, along with your clear narration, and enjoyed the subtle humor and wit shown in the video animations, etc. Very nicely done. Because it was so good, I subscribed to your channel, will share your video onward to my social media friends, and I hope to see more from you in the future.
One thing though, I did expect more description or commentary on how a "dragon" (creature itself) may have been seen by the people of Wales or early Briton, and would have appreciated more discussion on how the concept of a dragon reached that part of the world and was seen in early myths or beliefs. Perhaps that could be a future video topic for you.

Unfortunately, having a Welsh king on the English throne didn't help the Welsh any more that having a Scottish king on the English throne helped Scotland a century later. Seems like the celtic people always get shafted, even when they win.

That's an awesome video. This is not a fantasy. It's history.

I believe that it is generally understood that Dragon is derived from the Greek Drakon which translates as Serpent. This is a druidic symbol representing wisdom or enlightenment. The Celtic Mother Goddess Ceridwen was the deity that disbursed such wisdom to the worthy. The veneration of the serpent was widespread in the ancient world before the advent of Catholicism being known as Ophites, Hermeticism and Gnostics also called "the way" and "The ancient road". Interestingly the authentic Patron saint of England was St Edmund who's symbol was the White Dragon, it is no coincidence that St George was fond of slaying Dragons and St Patrick equally fond of eradicating Serpents.

At 1:30, that one who carries the draco symbol is a Dacian soldier (with the very distinctive Dacian hat). Actually, the Dacian flag was representing a wolf head, having open jaws, with snake body and tail attached. That flag reprezents the Dacian people, who were fighting like wolves (Lykos / Lupus) and being wise like serpents, as their god Zamolxe / Zamolse taught them (Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves”). So-called draco symbol is much older than Romans, Celts or Welsh. It cames from Pelasgian times, the ancestors of Getae and Dacian people. According to Herodotus, Pelasgians were first inhabitants of Greece, the old name of the country being Pelasgia / Pelagia. And according to Iordanes, in "Getica", Leges P(B)elag were the Belegine Law given to Pelasg / Getae / Dacian people by their god Zamolxe. The wolf was Pelasg / Getae / Dacian symbol and Zamolxe was named The Big White Wolf, born from the Holy Light. This symbol, of so-called draco, was denaturated, becoming a dragon, but they don't have a logic explanation of its origin, because it is... let's say borrowed.

Great video, thanks for that. As for King Arthur, I thought it was mostly settled that he was Arthurhos (the Bear) of Viroconium (Owain Danwyn ab Einion, Brenin Rhos, 447-520), husband of Gwenhwyer ferch Amlawdd, of the Britons, and son of Uther Pendragon (Einion Yrth ap Cunedda, Brenin Gwynedd, 415-473). Arthur was the heir of the Scarlet Coat of Padarn.
