This is a newer content style that I am looking at slowly implementing, let me know if you like this and want to see more or if this is something you'd be less interested in!

Prions becoming a bigger risk to humans like CWD or MCD but human-spread, is right up there with airborne rabies, in terms of nightmares

Technically there is a version of CWD and Mad Cow Disease that affect humans called Creutzfeldt Jakob disease. And as far as I can tell it’s 100% fatality.

People catching CWD is the closest thing to real life zombies since Bath Salts.

Prions are such a horrifying thing. And the fact that they replicate so easily, yet require EXTREME conditions to be destroyed, conditions that will almost never occur in nature...

Back when I lived in the woods we started having zombie deer. It was so sad when one of our faves got it.
She was very young when her mother disappeared so she stayed on our porch during winter to stay warm, usually by the dryer vent. A couple years later she had a baby and would visit us since she knew we weren't a threat. Eventually she showed up super skinny and out of it, her daughter alongside her just starting to look off. Found mama a few days later at a tree, already gone. Never found her daughter but she definitely was a goner as well.

If humans can get Mad Cow Disease from eating infected cows, it stands to reason that they can also get Chronic Wasting Disease from eating infected deer.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't want to take the chance of getting it, when most people in developed countries can buy safe meat from the supermarkets at relatively cheap prices.

-no long boring intro
-very informative
-takes measures to inform the public on how to avoid CWD
-very relaxing voice
-cool trees in the background
-tbh pretty handsome guy
This is why IdkSterling is already goated, even if he just doesn't know it yet. 🎅🎅🎅🐡🥕

Thank you for treating research as the bare minimum rather than an extra step, as it should be. You are always thorough and factual with your videos and set a precedent for others to follow. Keep up the good work; you're definitely one of my favorite content creators for it!!! ^~^

Fun fact, the reason diseases don’t transfer to humans YET is because they haven’t developed to care about the human anatomy yet and that areas foreign to them, but I assure you, all it takes is for one single protein, consumed by human, to be interested in the humans body for survival that groups will join in, and evolve to attack the human as well. That’s what bacteria and viruses are known to do, they’ve been had the ability to change and grow over time, that’s exactly what happened with Covid.

Edit: oh shit what the hell, I’m famous? How the fu-

I honestly have to say. At first I wasn’t sure about the longer videos. So used to the shorts and I always watch them. But I liked this. I like how you spoke into the camera and not just show anything and everything. It’s that connection you made. So thankyou !!! We’ll see how the next ones are !!!

One issue is that people who breed deer for trophy hunting have hundreds to thousands of animals, all in proximity with each other. They seem healthy yet test positive for the disease. These places don't get shut down, and they are just a CWD factory. They have a few sick animals and think that disposing of only the very sick solves the problem. Wild deer populations near these breeders have very elevated frequency of CWD as it can persist in the ground/water. I hope that regulation comes before there is a jump across species to humans, or that a jump never happens. Still makes me nervous. Plus it negatively impacts wild deer

I like this newer format! I learn things I didn't know much if anything about. I say go for it. You're easy to listen to and always informative.😊❤

I'm saving this to show to my father he needs to see this since our family consumes over 20 deer per year.
