Or steal everything that isn't nailed down just like every Bethesda game.

Avoid ever needing to gamble entering scanned space with contraband: Sell the contraband at the Traders Association at the Den in the Wolf System

You only get like 1-2k for selling taken ship of the registration cost. It’ll cover repairs on your ship not much else

Or glitch through an unopenable door on a roof top in new atlantis, fall through the bottom of the map, run over to the Ship dude, steal 72, 000, wait on venus for 24 hrs, rinse and repeat until millionaire.

I just built outposts in some planets, I sold those extra resources and I have a lot of money now.

Aight here's the REAL way to make big money right off of spawn. Mesh underneath the ship seller dude in the UC city and loot the box underneath him, as for some reason THAT'S how all the vendors in this game hold credits and shop inventory. Wait somewhere for 24 hours for the shop reset, and do it all again. You can also use this to buy/customise ships for free, as any money you give him will also end up in the box, and you'll just loot it back. Screw planet surveys, screw contraband and screw selling ships. Pirates don't play fair anyway.

These are great options. Another good option that isn't cheating or mods is to create 2 outposts extracting Iron and Aluminum in the Bessel Piazzi(Lv.10) star system. On moon Bessel III-b is the one. 100k+ of each. And make adaptive frames. 10% xp bonus from at least 1hr sleep, a 2% xp bonus from alien tea or certain terrabrew coffes and food. And a more difficult Xp bonus is having MAX companionship with a character... sleep and that's an addictional 15% xp. to get right before you make the adaptive frames at your industrial crafting bench.
Happy travels! 💪🏽🦄

Bruh, those are the exact traits I chose 😂. My background is the scoundrel. I sorta wish I got the gangster for the shotgun certification but no biggie.

I have never struggled for money in Bethesda games. Steal anything you can, kill and loot enemies or whatever you want and sell everything you don’t need.

I’ve been playing Starfield for a day now and nearly have 200K

On contraband:
The Red Mile on Porrima III will buy it AND doesnt have any faction personnel. The Den is filled with UC who will shoot you if you're on their bad side.

Go to Red Mile and get the shielded Cargo

Selling other ships also puts all that ship's miscellaneous items into your inventory. I'm not sure if that's a glitch on my game, but that's what happens to me.

Contraband has really proven to be not worth the effort, in my experience. Even with signal scramblers to raise chance of evading scan to near 80%, you will still get caught sometimes, earning a bounty or fees, or reloading your save, wasting time.

And the worst part is, even if you manage to stockpile hundreds of thousands of credits worth of high value loot, actually converting it to cash is even MORE hassle. You can sell maybe 3 items at any vendor before they run out of money. Then you either have to wait on a bench for a few days or travel to another location to sell 2 or 3 more.

OR ... you just add a couple thousand credits worth of cargo capacity to your ship, grab ANYTHING worth more than 1K credits per Kilo of weight, and earn just as much without the hastle.

The 1+k credit value rule per Kilo of weight is essential. Saves you from hauling low tier heavy armor or helmets and the like not worth the cargo space. 13 kilos of Meds and some decorations are worth more in the end than that 5, 750 credit, 13 Kilo suit of armor.

Just play the game. It throws credits at you like they’re nothing. Sadly, it usually all gets eaten by ship building.
There’s a bid here that describes building the best starter base for 950 credits. Do that.

Sell contraband in wolf system, no scans, has trade authority in the den station.

There is only one ship that can get away from contraband is the mantis ship. Pirates are scared when you fly it.
