A Lasell University student who is accused of stealing more than $500,000 from a Massachusetts mall jewelry store where she worked faced a judge on Friday.
Ariel Foster, 19, of Boston, is accused of stealing $547,187 from Lovisa, a store at the Burlington Mall, and using the money to buy a Tesla and Louis Vuitton items and go on a lavish trip to Hawaii.
Her bail was set at $1,000, and she was ordered to stay away from the store, mall and victims at her arraignment in Woburn District Court on charges of larceny over $1,200.
Police were called on Feb. 22 to Lovisa for a report of a credit card machine breach. Items scanned at the register on three dates in February had their price increased, and the cost of the item was refunded to a credit card belonging to Foster.
