Nice, succinct tutorial. I’ve been using the Camera Control a lot and really like it. There’s a bit of an initial learning curve, but once muscle memory takes over it’s quite a useful tool, especially for those who are more serious about photography. Looking forward to the upcoming “soft press to focus lock” function.

I don't know if this will continue into other models be adopted by other manufacturers, put for me the idea of a kind of scroll wheel type button just to replace the power button would be a cool idea

Buttons in the wrong spot and it's always just been easier to use the original photo button on screen!

I really love the camera control button, but I despise the controls built into it. Anytime I try to take a photo I get a weird zoom. I had to disable the light presses so that it is a one function shutter button, that's it. No hokey fake magic. ;)

I’m really struggling with this control. It seems to always open on a zoom slider. I never zoom like that - I only use the native zooms (I.e. 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0). In this video I can see you’ve got those options but without the full zoom slider between them. What am I doing wrong? Why can’t I find this option? 🤔

For someone like me who have sweaty fingers during my daily runs, finally I do not have the touch the screen to activate camera or change camera modes. Like seriously I’ve struggled for so long to start or stop a video recording mid-run cause the screen just doesn’t recognise my wet finger taps.

I got the 16 PM on 09/20 and I haven’t use Camera Control once. I already set the Action Button to camera on my 15PM and Action Button is 0.5 click (just hold) while Camera Control is 2 clicks (it open the camera on 2nd release) from screen off which is way longer.

Trying to change setting or take photo with Camera Control also takes way longer because everything is 3 clicks away while screen is 1 to 2 clicks away

Apple really is falling behind Chinese phones

While the camera button is gimmicky, it’s a welcome addition from apple.

Now androids will start copying apple and camera button will be everywhere from now on (just like removing headphone jack).

The ones benefitting from this are fps gamers. Shooting with camera button as trigger will be massive upgrade for mobile fps gaming.
