It's kind of amazing to see this technology. Imagine doing this work with tape in 1975. Only tape. Bouncing tracks through the board, adding effects, splicing tape, repeating. Wow. This seems hard enough to me with the digital tools.

I went through your free course a few months ago but only recently started to apply some of the wisdom you've imparted on the ways to really maximize the benefits of garageband.. The way you've assemble your content and able to articulate the step by step process is amazing. Thank you for these videos. I'm loving the process. 🤘

It’s like you knew I needed a long format video of this after sitting thru all 30+ of the GarageBand guide over the last week 🤣
Today was when I started applying everything to a recent project for a group,
and while sitting and writing all the things that really helped my mixes a TON,
You bless us with this gem! Stoked to watch this over and keep learning from you 🖖🏾

This is a fantastic tutorial. I was really struggling to understand how this whole process works, it's so overwhelming for someone who's never done it before. You really help make it clear and simple for everyone to understand. I'm applying to my music now and the difference is unbelievable!

Thanks so much; my mixes sound so much better than when I started out on the journey by following your helpful process, especially explaining compression and limiting

Hello Boss! Excellent video and you are so generous with your knowledge. I just want to share a personal viewpoint although I still have much to learn about mixing I am pretty experienced in music. I think its important to withdraw from the learning process on and off so you can apply what you learn so you get an outflow and not to much inflow only. Your system for the process are excellent but even so its still my job to get my music to sound the way I want soundwise. So I encourage people to use your system but not forget what kind of sound they are after. It might be to brake some ”rules” here and there. References as you mention is a good way and also just experiment. Maybe go a little extreme with the snaredrum and pitch it high or something else. There are definately great rules to follow thanks to you, just keep in mind that our personality is unique so dont be afraid to experiment and define for yourself what sound you want.
And thanks to you we then have a great system or way (whatever we call it) to also make it sound professional. Thanks a lot Colin! 👍

One thing you do regularly in the video when EQing is change the width of the frequencies you're adjusting or searching. Somehow you activate a tool that allows you to narrow or widen the colored band of interest. But...how do you activate/find the tool that allows you do change the width? I can't find a way to pull or push the sides of the colored frequency range. Hope my question makes sense. Great video! I'm redoing an entire project using the process you've described for us! Cheers!

When you were trying to assign the GAIN level of the master track (24:30, 26:10, and surrounding), there was some nasty sub coming through that was throwing the meters for a loop. I am surprised that you didn't adjust that single track with EQ or comp.
