Free Tax Filing 2022 Online | IRS Free File

The IRS has a free file service, which lets you prepare and file your federal income taxes online, for free. They’ve partnered with tax preparation software companies, like TaxAct, Tax Slayer, Free Tax USA, and other software providers, and if you qualify, it’s completely free. They previously offered free tax preparation through TurboTax, but for this year TurboTax dropped out of the program.

Hi Noel! Just quick question, I had few people that I know who did there tax already, and is it true that, they are taking the last stimulus check that everyone had received? I thought, we didn't have to pay it back.

Something that I’ve always been baffled about is why the IRS encourages people to file their income taxes online, yet there are certain situations which require (according to IRS instructions) filing a paper return via snail mail, the old-fashioned way. Or is there a way around this? I am one of them, unfortunately. I am usually required to file with a mailed-in paper return.

Is having a W2, 1099 & my daughters 1098 t, considered complicated?

I’m under 73, 000 & it reported back there were zero offers I was eligible to use. Took my income down to 10, 000 & still not eligible for any free tax filing option. I tried it with both eligible & not eligible for EITC. Still zero offers. Looked up the closest Taxpayer Assistance Center & it’s 100 miles away. So nothing is available in my area apparently.
