In this video, I'll share even more of the brands that are an excellent indicator of watch enthusiasm and also talk about what makes the brands so appealing to our highly-specific audience. Zenith. Undoubtedly. No one finds Zenith by coincidence. You find it because you were looking for it.

JLC will instantly tell you they appreciate high horology. It is the watch makers watch, and certainly a watch collectors watch.

I learned of Squale from TGV and purchased one from Gnomon years ago. Good watch for the $, not sure why anyone would go “sour “ on the brand because of TGV.

Overall a great video, just thought it was a bit unnecessary to mention TGV. Don´t follow him as much of late, but really wasn't necessary. You do you, let others do their stuff. Just saying.

What's the TGV effect? Do people hate him? What's wrong with Urban Gentry?

I have him on regular rotation along with Teddy, Federico, Bark and Jack, and Jenni Elle and enjoy his content as much as everyone else's.

TGV as in the Urban Gentry? I love TGV. Not sure how his recommendation would have negative connotations?! I love Teddy’s videos too but not sure I agree with that.

Knowing what the TGV effect is indicates you're a watch enthusiast, heh.

Ball is great! Glad you mentioned them!

Have owned a Ball for several years, my favorite watch. It’s my travel watch because of the tritium glow it serves as my bed side watch where there are no bed side clocks. Second favorite is Yema Flygraf. Nice.

The watches in my collection that have been most noticed by other enthusiasts are my Sturmanskies. Definitely an enthusiast brand.

By the "TGV Effect", do you mean the phenomenon by which he grows the watch community? The TGV effect got me to watch you.

Really confused by your comment about Squale and TGV. Do people have some beef with him?

I see anyone wearing an expensive watch that's not a Rolex & guaranteed they're into watches....
Few brands in this video I'm considering - Ball, Muhle in particular. Good video thank you.
Cheers Mate 👍🏻👍🏻

Squale was a swiss brand till itvwas sold to the italian Maggi family. Found 1959 by swiss Charles von Büren in Neuchâtel, he was a diver and often tested their watches in the lake there. Great brand, still making good affordable swiss made watches.

"Might be the TGV effect"

Lmao I love super "niche" internet beef. Watch enthusiasts spitting understated, passive aggressive bars is the new 2021 rap battle.

The need for accurate and precise timekeeping once railways were established and timetables were required to stop trains from colliding is a fantastic historical story and well worth looking into. It also forced the need for standardized as opposed to local time to adjust those watches to.
