How Rope Is Made

This factory has been producing rope for 400 years. Master Ropemakers in Chatham Dockyard is the only traditional working ropewalk in the world. It still uses the same methods and 150-year-old equipment to create each rope.

I've been in this building. Very cool to see. A few of the ropes in The Pirates of the Carribean was made by these guys and only 4 master rope makers work here now. The building is 1/4 of a mile long.

I’m sure you could figure out if they’ve made enough rope to reach the moon.
If they’ve been making rope for 400 years and at their peak 200 years or so. The great ships took a minimum 30 miles of rope, I’m sure they have records of the numbers of ships they’ve supplied?
At the very least I’m sure they’ve circumnavigated the globe more than a few times.
