Control + Win + Left/Right Arrow
Keep two separate workspaces up without constantly switching windows one at a time. Especially effective with multiple monitors.

For command prompt, I prefer using:

Ctrl + Shift + Mousewheel Down
Ctrl + Shift + Mousewheel Up

Down will decrease the window transparency, and up will increase, making it so you can see the window behind the command prompt without needing to move it.

Another lesser known one I use is:

Shift + Win + Arrow Keys

This is specifically for multi-monitor setups, but it will move a window to another monitor in the same position depending on your monitor setup and which arrow key you press.

Another gem is Microsoft Power Toys that brings more functions. For example you can use "mouse without borders" and use your keyboard and mouse on several computers+screen even though they are just connected to one PC. The computers have to be on the same network and be given trust on each Power Toy service. It's possible to arrange the computers as if they were multiple monitors even though they are completely separate machines.

Window + G is probably my favorite for switching audio devices and changing individual program audio levels. It works great when you've got something full screen like a game

Windows + Left Arrow and Windows + Right Arrow = Window to left / right
Ctrl-Shift-Escape = Task Manager / Process Explorer
Windows Key + Ctrl + Shift + B = Reset video driver (use maybe 3 times if your screen won't recover after power save)
Adding shift to things sometimes reverses order i.e:
Alt + Shift + Tab = Switch windows in reverse order
Ctrl + Print Screen = All screen to clipboard
Alt + Print Screen = Current window to clipboard
Windows + Print Screen
Windows + Break = Settings (accidentally found just now)
Windows + Control + Backspace = Some window history function I've never seen (accidentally found just now too)

since you aren't using powershell full screen, you could put the notepad window closer to the top of the screen to the area that isn't covered by the powershell window so the information from notepad is on screen while using powershell.

Browser tabs shortcuts:
crtl + (pg up/pg dn) display another adjacent tab
crtl + shift + (pg up/pg dn) moves the open tab

Also going back and forth through history :
alt + left/right arrow keys

Ctrl + Shift + Scroll wheel changes the opacity of the terminal.

You can scroll down to decrease the opacity enough to see the notepad doc underneath without minimizing anything.

Yes, these shortcuts have been around since I've been using Windows Vista from personal experience. I appreciate your work David!

I’ve known this for a while. When I’m board I’ll sometimes scroll through shortcuts for different devices. It’s really convenient for future me. One of the most useful was when I finally stumbled across the reset graphics shortcut. My pc keeps black screening after being woken up, so win+ctrl+shift+b is really useful for me.
Also, win+left and win+right can be used to move what side of your screen (as well as which screen for a multi monitor setup) the active window is on. Win+up and win+down also move the active window up and down the screen in the same way.
All this and more is easily available online.

Control+Shift+Escape will bring up a new Task Manager directly, even if Control+Alt+Delete will not work, even if Windows Explorer is not running or frozen, or even if an earlier Task Manager is frozen.

A tip I use: in the file explorer, select the top folder/file and type the first characters of the file/folder you want to search for. Way faster than search or having to manually parse through them.

If you click on the desktop after you minimize or close out the windows you can press ALT-F4 and you'll get the shutdown menu without having to click on this start button.

Yes I knew this, and if you press Windows Up again it will maximise the window.

my favorite shortcuts : control + a = select all text in field. control + shift + (left/right) arrow = lets you select text by the word, really useful. control + (left/right) arrow = lets you jump by word, but without selection/highlighting of text. You can use a combination of the last two to select any lengths of text without the use of your mouse. Good when you have both hands on keyboard. (You can also do it single handed). I also copy a lot of stuff preemptively, just in case I need to modify it quickly. For example when entering a search query. I have caps lock as windows key, and can easily open explorer (I use directory opus), with windows + e. In firefox, alt + w is really useful if you open lots of tabs, it closes all tabs but the one you have open. Good for doing a reset/clearing of tabs. (You need the Close All Tabs extension). Alt + tab, you can reverse with shift, so shift+alt+(tap)tab.
