Since this is an artificially created image I don't find this that big of a leap in technology. If it were a robot, that would be a different thing altogether. However, this concept may be used more and more to save money on news anchors. Welcome to the future.

on one hand i find the cgi quite impressive (for a time before unreal 5 was available), but on the other hand i find actually replacing humans with it a bit disturbing.

They need to mimic expressions better, but are on the right track, hell and a laugh or sneeze, but definitely at some point capture nose movement and mouth movement, The goal should be so even a deaf person can read the AI lips
