Last night nearly 200 of you joined us for an online event with some fantastic speakers, thoughtful questions and a great atmosphere! The Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Net Zero, Dr Alan Whitehead MP spoke and was very engaged in the discussion. You sent him a very clear message - Great British Energy, the new publicly owned renewable energy generation company proposed by Labour, must be seriously ambitious.

Welcome to the idea of GBE. We need to extend it to manage our Health and Railways to rebuild all what conservative greed has destroyed.

I hope this happens, I'm sick of greedy energy companies using us to line the pickets of their shareholders and CEO's This April my price has risen twice. (octopus) meter so far has gone from 21p 51p, 56p to 62p energy from 15p 21p 28p 32p to 34p I have had to turn off heating, went the whole winter 2 winters now without this luxury. Hands go blue at times. Turned off the tumble drier, drying clothes now on a clothes horse. Turned off the fridge freezer which is the hardest part as I cannot safely store meat and some types of veg which affects nutrition plus involves a long hike to shops as food does not last as long out of the fridge. I have had to stop showering in hot water and instead fitted a car hose to the tap as it was costing a crazy amount to shower. water comes out like it's an ice bucket challenge. Despite using very little water 2 cubits a quarter of the water board (southwest water) cash in, by the time they add 2x fixed charges and sewage charges the £3.00 cost of water gives me a bill of £49.00. Seriously something needs to be done, and it needs to be done, NOW!

If the Tory government can waste millions on PPE etc. Labour can funnel billions to new solar, wind and battery storage.

Just wish it is done much SOONER than 2030!

Private owners are clearly more interested in making profit than looking after the interests of the nation and the planet. They make no apologies for this and as such are not fit for purpose in a modern society. In fact the torys openly admit they do not believe in society. How they get votes beyond a clearly selfish, naïve and destructive few is very worrying.
