Wasp vs Venus Flytrap

These large creatures rarely get caught, but this one was unlucky.

The wasps are attracted to the tasty nectar "bait" secreted by the VFT along the edge of the traps.

The trigger hairs are visible: 3 on each side of the trap.

After digesting the wasp for about 7 days, the trap will re-open, revealing a shell of the wasp.

Fun fact: the plant waits until 3 special tongue hairs are triggered, and it has to be within s certain time frame.

That saves energy and makes sure it doesn't snap for nothing!
