🙏 Thanks to all supporters! They are mentioned in the credits of the video :)

This is my video series about Real Analysis. We talk about sequences, series, continuous functions, differentiable functions, and integral. I hope that it will help everyone who wants to learn about it.

This is #Day5 in the series.

#AdventofMathematicalSymbols
#Analysis
#Calculus
#Mathematics

I hope that this helps students, pupils and others. Have fun!

(This explanation fits to lectures for students in their first and second year of study: Mathematics for physicists, Mathematics for the natural science, Mathematics for engineers and so on)

Thanks! encountered the gamma function when looking up the formula for the volume of the n-ball, now I understand it a little:)

Love the Gamma function, it is a very nice generalization! :)

An alternative definition is given by Π(z) = Γ(z + 1) = z·Γ(z), allowing you to get rid of the –1 in the definition and simplifying most formulae. Also, keep in mind that because we are dealing with complex numbers, the correct way to write the integrand is technically exp[z·ln(t) – t] and not t^z·e^(–t), since the expression t^z is technically meaningless, unless z is an integer.

Thank you for explaining. I have needed this. What does := stand for?

Is there a generalization of the gamma function to quaternions? and even further generalizations to octonions, sedenions...up to 2^n -ions?
