Beware of ‘ghost jobs’ 👻 #shorts

Ghost Jobs = a job posting that is ‘technically’ open, but likely won’t actually be getting filled

Why not? Because, employers sometimes post roles that they aren’t actively hiring for, but it could stay up (and you could apply to it) for months at a time.

Some of the top reasons that employers do this include -

➡️ To make it look like the company is growing… even if it’s not
➡️ To motivate current staff that may be overworked or have low morale
➡️ To stockpile a pipeline of candidates for the future

According to a survey done by Clarify Capital, 27% of hiring managers who participated admitted to leaving job postings up for over 4 months without planning on actually filling those roles.

To avoid waiting around to hear back from a company that’s never going to get back to you, check to see how long a job posting you’re applying to has been up, and ensure the posting is detailed (with no ‘placeholder’ sections or information).

Have you ever applied to a ghost job? Let us know!

For every ghost job and personal info the company acquires, there should be a heavy fine because you are being irresponsible with peoples' personal information. There should be imprisonment if that data is sold to a third party without consent of a job applicant.
