Why TRIKES and 3 Wheel Motorcycles GET NO RESPECT

Why Trikes and 3 wheel motorcycles like the Can-Am Spyder and Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra get no respect but why they are still popular.

My dad has been riding since ‘66 and decided he didn’t trust his balance enough for 2 wheels so he bought a spyder. Some guy said to him if I ever have to ride 3 wheels just shoot me. Hearing that broke my heart, dad is still out in the wind and that’s the most important thing.

In Texas, there are a ton of trikes. There are Goldwing and Harley trikes all over. There are also a ton of CanAm Spyders. CanAm has recently done a huge promotion of only $99 for women to take the MSF class on a Spyder. Yes, a lot of older people ride three wheels when they feel like they don't want to hold up 2 wheels anymore. Also, a lot of women tend to ride three wheels. Maybe because where you live you can only ride part of the year and three-wheelers are expensive, you don't see them very often. I will wave to anyone who is out in the open on two or three wheels. They bring more awareness to motorcycles in general. Quit being so close-minded.

Been riding bikes since the 80s but switched to a trike about 5 years ago after my third knee operation. I don't think it matters what you ride as long as it keeps you on the road. To each their own are my thoughts and respect to all who are still able to get out there.

I don't hate them. It offers the freedom and the wind to more people. Riding is not about vanity.

I am all about motorcycles, but I am all about the Can Am Spyder as well--its okay to be different. Remember Cruza, what you call fun on a motorcycle may not be fun for someone else. Personally, I think the Spyder is a lot of fun. I probably am someone who you would call able bodied, who has the strength and ability to ride a two-wheeled motorcycle, but that is not what I am interested in at this time. I look forward to one day riding my Spyder with my two-wheel brothers and sisters just out having a good time.

From a guy who preaches safety dissing a trike is akin to blasphemy. The third wheel creates a more stable platform which helps mitigate the risk riding, probably as much as wearing full gear. Yes, I'm an ATGATT guy as well, but I don't dis or preach to those who aren't. Trikes are not just for old or disabled people. I am 44 and I have had a motorcycle license for a few years now. I've ridden 2 wheelers and trikes and am getting a Can Am Spyder soon. I have no disability and I don't think I'm that old either. CC try riding a Spyder without leaning and you'll get why your comment "Trikes are for guys who are scared to lean" is pure ignorance. As lane splitting/filtering is only legal in 2 states does it really matter that you can't do it on a trike? I think NOT! Don't knock til you try it! Hey buddy thats good thinking!

What is that ridiculous statement from "real riders of community who ride a lot of years that don't give respect to trikes". Who cares what those think or even who are they. You wanna ride it - you ride it! Need approval from "real" riders? I don't own one, but can-ams look awesome and can even be used with near freezing temperatures with less risks of 2 wheeled ones.

Real motorcycle riders respect all who ride regardless of the bike or trike. I rode a two-wheeler for a long time and definitely was not afraid to lean. I ride a trike and have never heard a negative comment while cruising across the country. I just get out and ride and don't worry about what others think. I like your enthusiasm for motorcycling and will continue to watch your channel.

You have a small mind if you think everyone has the same reasons for riding that you do not everyone wants to fly around, wheelies, racing like you ~ the only respect lost is from people that think like you.

Handicapped people have enough economic problems as it is, and imagine what a trike would cost if the demand was limited to us handicapped only. It's a good thing that more people are interested in trikes as that will get the prices down to reasonable levels. A big problem with many of the handicap made things like sports wheelchairs and such is the insane prices because that much of it is custom built in very small series.

I don’t think you can speak of something you’ve never done. My wife has a canam ryker which I ride a lot and I have a streetglide. They’re awesome and you don’t lose any freedom. Idk how you come to that conclusion especially since you have no idea what it’s about. You should test ride one before the honking that. It’s like saying you don’t like a certain food that you’ve never had

Very disappointed that you were so judgmental about the trike when you haven't even rode one. I thank God that I live in an area that ALL bikers are treated with respect and as family. I could no longer ride a 2 wheel bike so it was either give up and die, missing the thrill of the open road or get a trike and still have my wind therapy. There are only couple within 50 miles. My kids all have Harleys and ask me to ride with them, they are not embarrassed to be seen with me, but glad that I can still join in family rides. Also I have always been shown RESPECT by other bikers there is a very large Harley and sport bike communities in this area. The idea here is IT IS NOT WHAT YOU RIDE, BUT THAT YOU RIDE, IT IS NOT HOW FAST YOU GO, BUT THAT YOU ENJOY THE RIDE. You will find that most trike riders were 2 wheel riders for many years and for their own reasons have gone to a trike. I ride everyday unless we have snow or ice, it is my antidepressant. I don't disrespect you for your choice of bike, you should not disrespect trike riders either. BROTHER/SISTERHOOD BIKER CODE I have a motorcycle license the same as you.

He sounds reckless and I want to see how he feel when some has to help him get on a 2 wheel bike everytime just so he can have a random moment. That's not full freedom. 3 wheels keep their freedom
