LOL you know the thing that confused me so much... was that I couldn't tell when he was "real" and when he was the comic character, he found himself so slowly that the transition was barely noticeable until he transformed into the heartbreaking character he ended up as. The acting was so good that I couldn't even tell.

kind wish she was nicer to him at times :( like damn mans reazlied he isn't real, he was unaware of it and he had no control over his past actions. his family isn't real, and his mom wasn't real, he hates hospitals bc of what he went through as a kid and throughout the show they made him the loner and outcast with no friends but thankful they included his lil brother to help him. the combination of his character and someone like dan oh who is sick had potential, I felt their chemistry in ep1, you know the usual mean guy with issues but falls for someone he would have never guessed, I first thought the storyline was going to be kyung and dan oh being the main characters and he was going to fall for her (as he did) but she fell in love with someone else and mans got his heart broken again. I knew he was gonna be the second lead 😭and I thought about stop watching the show bc I knew haru and dan oh were gonna end up together but I'm glad I stuck around and see his character develop

edit: damn i was just ranting i didn't know it got this much attention 🕴i still stand by this kinda, i just felt pity and sympathetic to him since i can relate him in a way

Why some of yall hating on Dan Oh lol, if anything her straightforward treatment to kyung was def needed. She also cared for him and even accompanied him on his mom's death anniv and also at the end, but he needed the truth from her everytime even if it was harsh, cause he'll just end up hoping more and more if she would consider his feelings everytime

I finished Alchemy of Souls and I couldn't get enough of Jae Wook so I started watching this drama. I must say he is an extremely expressive and great actor!

As much as I could understand the emotional trauma he went through and felt really bad for him .. I still wouldn't ship Dan-Oh with Baek Kyung..simply because she deserved better .. ik it was the charecter that the author wrote which made him be this toxic, still he was too harsh on Dan-Oh and I'm sooo soo soo glad that she ended up with Haru, who made her realise how love is supposed to be like.. although I'm glad that he had a really good charecter development..

their story was so much more interesting to me than the main lead’s story. Loved how complex baek kyung was and how much his character developed at the end. The chemistry between dano and kyung was so strong and even though it was impossible for them to end up together, I’m glad they ended up being good friends who were grateful for each other. I wish the writer continued baek kyung’s character in the 3rd book too. He deserved a lot better.

i love baek kyung. He was the most hurt character in the drama. It sucks that everyone only sees dan oh's pain. Baek kyung and his mother's past, his abusive father, feeling left out in his new family & his entire journey of realising he's only a character in some comic book was so sad to watch. He loved dan oh since they were kids but because he was in a comic book his life was controlled by the writer who wanted his character to be cold and mean. His real self had to hide his feelings for dan oh because he was scared to lose her the way he lost his real mother. Because baek kyung's father wanted to use her for business and money. Or else you can see how genuinely happy he was when they both had gone on that date. Also, imagine the only person in your life who genuinely loves you and cares about, has been there for you throughout, being stolen by a guy who suddenly came into her life out of nowhere (Haru) You can't blame baek kyung. He deserves so much more than this.

are you guys in the comments serious?? he hurt her the most and y’all are saying ‘she should’ve ended with baek kyung’. sure, he didn’t have control on his actions at first but even when he became aware of himself he wasn’t nice to her all. I understand he went through many things and I sympathize with him, but that doesn’t mean he and Dan Oh should be together, it gonna be so toxic. also Dan Oh doesn’t even like him so what is the ‘chemistry’ you’re talking about? It was written in the comic she should do this and that and she didn’t have control of it but she clearly dislikes him in the shadow. Haru and Dan Oh are on of the healthiest and cutest couple I’ve ever seen so I’m really shocked some people didn’t want them to end up together.
