baek kyung was my favorite character from this drama. he was made out to be the "bad guy" and yes he did many terrible things, but he was sadly misunderstood. i really felt for him and i hope he got his happy ending

i love baek kyung. He was the most hurt character in the drama. It sucks that everyone only sees dan oh's pain. Baek kyung and his mother's past, his abusive father, feeling left out in his new family & his entire journey of realising he's only a character in some comic book was so sad to watch. He loved dan oh since they were kids but because he was in a comic book his life was controlled by the writer who wanted his character to be cold and mean. His real self had to hide his feelings for dan oh because he was scared to lose her the way he lost his real mother. Because baek kyung's father wanted to use her for business and money. Or else you can see how genuinely happy he was when they both had gone on that date. Also, imagine the only person in your life who genuinely loves you and cares about, has been there for you throughout, being stolen by a guy who suddenly came into her life out of nowhere (Haru) You can't blame baek kyung. He deserves so much more than this.

He tried to hate Dan oh because he knows that his father will just use her weakness for business and money.

I still love them. Not as a couple but as the selves they are trying to be. And damn did Hye-Yoon and Jae-Wook do amazing with these roles. Those moments where they slip out of their written characters into their offstage selves... iconic. Can't believe this series isn't raved about as much as it should be.

I know most of the things he did are because of the author, but he was just as bad in the shadow. He always invalidated her feelings, humiliated her on a daily and only got nicer in last episodes. Haru stayed with her and they became each other’s comfort while kyung barely even tried or straight up ignored her. I know that he was Scared of losing her like his mother but because of his fear he lost her and only pushed her away till she didn’t look at him anymore and now he only has himself to blame for not realizing earlier before it was too late.
