What benefit does the hyperloop have compared to trains, especially for freight?

Priority on the magnetic levitation of the pod is the wrong choice.

A train with existing and proven technology that goes 200 kmph, would go 600 kmph in a vacuum tube.
If you can proof you can create a vacuum in a tube with equal or less energy than it would take to overcome the air resistance of the same 200 kmph train, you got a winning concept.

And the second priority would be to create airlocks to connect the inside of the pods with the side of the tube, for exiting or entering the pod. And air locks to get the pods in and out of the tubes.

Only if those two priorities are accomplished it will be time to increase the speed of the pod.

One question: Since there are more than one developer of a Hyperloop system, will there be any standards as you're talking about, where the tunnel itself is a standard and can accommodate different types of "trains"? Like we have the rail system today, which can accommodate different types of trains, but the rails are the same. As far as I know there are at least 8 different companies developing there vision of a Hyperloop system. Soon SpaceX will join in.

Ik zag dat dhr Bertrand van Ee sinds begin dit jaar CEO is van Hardt Hyperloop. Deze man met een lange ervaring in de infrastructuur (o.a HSL) denk ik dat jullie een extra boost krijgen. Mooie team!!
