Modeling a LOW POLY NISSAN GT-R R35 | Blender 2.83 Complete Tutorial

Показать описание
In this video I model a Nissan GT-R R35 in Blender 2.83. Pretty much the entire process is included with a minimal amount of editing to show every move which is why the video is a bit lengthy. I hope it can provide some useful tips when modeling low poly cars based on real life models.

I will be practicing and refining this process myself and my ambition is to model cars at this level of detail in less than 30 minutes from start to finish. I'll make more videos on this topic as I make progress :)

I'll add the blend files (10 versions saved throughout the tutorial) for "Tutorial Tier" on my Patreon Page:

(All of the music in this video was composed by me and it can also be downloaded from my Patron page)

that's a great quote at around 25:00, "It's always a compromise, low poly, you can't get every line so find the one that's the most important" I truly believe that learning low poly is a huge advantage for beginners because they can get used to the idea of getting a base shape first before going into detail

This is best tutorial / "copy from me" style Blender videos on whole YT! Thank you very much for sharing! I learn ALOT when watching!

Huh, so concentrated and effective! Sometimes learning must go in quick way to avoid hungups and frustrations. Errors in the beginning of learning is not that important. Just polish workflow algorithmically and errors will decrease gradually. We all must seek personal quickest ways to optimise workflows. If you seek u will find! And I find too. Thanks for some impressions u made. This is right way to do everything. U've got subscriber.

Your videos are fantastic! Not many channels with such clarity & easy to follow steps - on blender & unity. Much appreciated

The new shortcut to merge 2 verts is “M”. Thanks for the longer, more in-depth content. I literally just requested it like 3 days ago. You may have picked up a new Patron.

It turned out amazing) with such a low number of polygons, it is immediately clear what kind of car is)

(Blueprint Tip) I'm really new to this modelling - but with the few symmetrical blueprints I have used - I first bring it in to something like MS Paint and find the dead centre (by pixel coordinates) and draw a (1px) vertical line down the centre of the blueprint (and a small horizontal 1px line to make a cross-hair) - I find this makes lining it all (front / back etc) up very easy in blender (zoomed waaaay in to line up perfectly).

i liked it so much.
few tips:
1- don't select edges one by one, select 1st then ctrl the last edge
2-you can use (local view) for small objects in scene for easier navigation

You have excellent technique and great communication skills, I always learn so much from your videos. Thanks for this one; I'm going to do my son's S2000 when I get home today! :)

I used to do this for Flight Simulator aircraft, except that I didn't use Blender and the models were definitely not low poly by the time FS9 came out. I couldn't possibly give you any useful tips on Blender techniques, but I can tell you that being able to tell what 3D shape is represented in the "3 view" image is an insight that takes time to master. It's not that the line drawings aren't accurate (well ... that depends on where you got the drawing), it's that line drawings don't always indicate compound curves too well. Having a few photos of the subject (as you did with the spoiler) can sometimes help ... sometimes! This was entertaining, as usual, but in this case I'll stick with my tried-n-true methods I've been using for 15 years and then import the model to Blender as an OBJ.
P.S. The way you built the brake light is how I build entire aircraft, one section at a time.

Low Poly to stylized tips/methods would be good to watch. I have only just discovered you and your tree (island and rock) look great!
