fun fact, when first learning to solve a rubiks cube, my cube popped and I put it together randomly. obviously it became severely unsolvable and I kept raging at tutorial videos that weren’t working (sigh) the I learned about corner twists and how you actually cant flip certain pieces and my world changed forever.

That was my exact reaction when I solved my first cube on my own about 8 months ago! then I forgot the algorithm to get the yellow cross solved properly. I went back a week later and learned it. my best is now 30 secs!
