After the Assassin's Creed Shadows Delay and the scores of controversy, Ubisoft is panicking. Ubisoft Stock Prices falling, and a reminder of Assassins Creed Infinity, plus Star Wars Outlaws and Skull and Bones, it seems Ubisoft is in a situation where they can't survive, and very well could shut down sooner rather than later.

I am genuinely old enough to remember taking a game off the shelf in a games store and asking, “So, is this game any good?” And the answer was, “It’s Ubisoft. Of course it’s good!” And that was not a laughable sentence. It carried weight! Does anyone else remember when Ubisoft wasn’t just good, but their name alone sold games? What happened?

I was partly looking forward to them trying to showcase Shadows in front of the culture it was based on, but seeing them canceling it right at the last second is enough for me. All the gaslighting, bot campaigns and general internet vitriol from individuals defending this title have this news fly straight into their face.

I'm hoping this is the start of a positive change, but my wallet is remaining closed until the proof is shown regardless.

Maybe these AAA game studios will finally get the message to stop delivering buggy games to consumers at a premium, insisting that we just shut up and consume their unfinished slop. as a native Japanese speaker, I can go ahead and say that google translate is still actually incredibly bad at translating english to Japanese and any longer phrases/sentences translated with it would be obvious to Japanese people.
