Thank you for bringing all these dances back in the spotlight! I was born in 1958 and had two older sisters. It's hard to tell people what "American Bandstand" meant to EVERYONE! We learned new dances each week. It brought young and old together. People visited each other back then: and you would share your best moves. Even though there was a BIG age gap...dance and music bridged it ALL. I read some of the negative comments and just want to say you have to start with a single move . Thanks again!

Thanks! I heard this referenced in a song and wanted to see what it looked like. I do a monkey dance myself that adds the legs in, cross pattern stepping forward and back like dogs and cats walk. Also leaning over. It always seems to get attention & I don’t know if it’s because I look drunk or awesome. 😅monkey power 🐒

I was just doing the monkey to the song at the Speakeasy just wanted to make sure it was right , I use my shoulder a little more and some neck action also, I was the only one dancing, all the chicks started to light up that's a good sign you are doing it right at 66 I am a little surprised at the reaction I get but if you have the energy and physical strength to hold up, not break down, put it at the right place and throw in some surprises moves like 360 spins ala James Brown and it appear they will jump off those bar stools and start clapping dancing helps the band guys adds energy and Fun, .
