Zelensky: Kursk op. to create 'buffer zone'; Lukashenko: border with Ukraine mined like never before

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday announced plans to create a "buffer zone" in Russia's Kursk region.

Meanwhile, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on the same day that Ukraine had stationed more than 120,000 troops at its border with Belarus and Minsk had deployed nearly a third of its armed forces along the entire border.

Later on Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan for a two-day state visit.

Shorty after arrival, Putin was greeted by Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev.

Putin and Aliyev are expected to have official talks on Monday (August 19).
