CLIP DESCRIPTION:
David Banner (Nick Nolte) experiments on himself after seeing what his son became.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Ang Lee directs the live-action feature film The Hulk, based on the Marvel comic book created by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby. Emotionally stunted Dr. Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) is part of a research team at the University of California at Berkeley. Corporate hustler Glenn Talbot (Josh Lucas) takes notice of the lab and makes plans to take it over. Then Bruce accidentally gets hit by an experimental ray and grows into a huge beast, destroying the lab in the process. A creepy janitor who claims to be his real father, Dr. David Banner (Nick Nolte), starts to secretly use the experimental ray on himself. He creates some mutant dogs and sends them after Bruce's lab mate and ex-girlfriend Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly). After Bruce saves her life in the form of the Hulk, she lets her distant father, General Ross (Sam Elliott), take him to an abandoned army base in the desert. However, Glenn Talbot takes over the operation and wants to patent the creature's superpowers for his own profit, so he holds Bruce unconscious in an isolation tank. When provoked, Bruce turns into the Hulk and makes a break for San Francisco, leading to a desert chase sequence involving military aircraft, tanks, and bombs. Only the sight of Betty can make him turn back to his human form. When he is eventually captured, Dr. David Banner shows up for a final confrontation with his son and his old adversary, General Ross.

1:02 I always loved this scene. With his metal blue fingers creaking through the metal. The way he leaves those lines in the paint. Such a cool special effect, and the sounds it made.

Holy crap. I remember thinking the metal hand bit was pretty neat when I was younger, but looking at it years later, that whole part was REALLY well made and quite satisfying to watch.

I love how he starts talking about his son and his son's DNA to a complete stranger and to top it all of it's not to a scientist but to a freaking guard XD.

A very subtle yet well executed thing I love about this scene (other than the VFX, of course) is how after David throws the guy closer to him so he can kill him, he actually does it almost immediately afterward. No long pause, no bullshit monologue, he just kills him within a second as soon as he’s close enough to show how cold and ruthless he’s become which is incredibly realistic given that the guy didn’t even have time to unholster his gun once he was on the ground. The tone and things that happened in this scene disturbed me when I first saw it as a kid because of the almost horror feel it has and even now, it’s still quite unsettling. Overall, I do have a lot of mixed feelings about this film as most people seem to but there are some things in it that are genuinely well done, this scene in particular.

This film was underrated, loved it along with Raimi's Spider-Man films

1:48 He says “You see, I can partake with the essences of all things” while looking like a country singer on a hunting trip. I love it.

In a world where most people freak out when they find a dot on their skin....he seems to be handling these changes fairly well.

Real talk, the way the VFX guys did the blue metal hand and paint moving around at 1:03 was extremely well done for 2003.
