Tandy Rotary Pro Leather Punch - Review & Leather Handles

In this video we review the Tandy Rotary Pro Punch (Model No. 3230-00 ).
I give my opinion as to whether is justifies its higher price than other cheaper punches.
I then go on to show you how to modify the punch, so that it has a better grip. I wrap the handles in leather and show you how to get a perfect joint in the leather.

That's the one I have. First major leather working tool I bought when I got into leather working. I still use it regularly.

If you have access to someone who does powder coating, I recommend getting the handles powder coated so the grip does not peel or come off.

This is essentially a Chinese made copy of the expensive CS Osborn solid forged steel rotary punch. 40$ for this one instead of 80$ for the CS Osborn one. Just as good, or close to it. You can replace the anvil, front spring, handle spring, and hole punches, just like on the CS Osborn one.

The "high end" rotary punch avail at Tandy in Canada doesn't even resemble the one you are profiling.

Unfortunately this punch is currently listed as £79.95 plus £42.15 postage on the Amazon UK site. Definitely not worth that kind of money.
