Opel has officially unveiled its latest compact SUV, the Frontera, during a high-profile event in Istanbul. The presentation featured Opel’s CEO Florian Huettl, Vice President of Design Mark Adams, and Senior Vice President of Product & Pricing Tobias A. Gubitz. They introduced the Frontera to a global audience, emphasizing its modern design, spacious interior, and competitive pricing.

The Frontera will be offered in two key versions: the fully electric Frontera Electric, starting at around €29,000, and the hybrid Frontera Hybrid, priced at approximately €24,000, including VAT in Germany. These options aim to provide environmentally conscious yet practical solutions for a wide range of drivers.

CEO Florian Huettl shared, "Opel has been shaping the automotive industry for 125 years, consistently delivering innovative, accessible, and sustainable mobility. The new Frontera reflects our dedication to creating vehicles that fit the modern lifestyle with versatility and advanced technology."

Opel also announced that a seven-seater version is in development, expanding its appeal to larger families and groups needing extra space.

In terms of design, the Frontera makes a bold statement with its distinctive appearance. It is the first model to display Opel's new Blitz emblem prominently on its Opel Vizor front fascia. Its muscular wheel arches, striking side sills, and defined C-pillar give it a strong, dynamic stance. Inside, the cabin is designed with functionality in mind, featuring a modern steering wheel and two 10-inch widescreens. Practical features like a smartphone docking station come as standard.

Comfort is a top priority in the Frontera. The front seats incorporate Opel’s patented Intelli-Seats, designed to reduce tailbone pressure on long drives. Storage space is ample, with more than 450 liters in the trunk, expandable to 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded. Outdoor enthusiasts can opt for roof rails and a roof tent with a ladder, supported by a roof load capacity of up to 240 kilograms.

The Frontera’s powertrain options include a hybrid and a fully electric version. The hybrid model features a 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine generating 74 kW (100 hp), paired with a 21 kW electric motor and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. This combination optimizes fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. A more powerful hybrid variant offers 100 kW (136 hp) from its turbocharged engine.

The fully electric Frontera Electric, starting at around €29,000, delivers over 300 kilometers of range based on WLTP standards, with an extended-range model capable of reaching approximately 400 kilometers on a single charge.

Opel has simplified the purchase process by introducing a fully digital buying experience. The Frontera is the first Opel model to support online ordering through an intuitive "one-scroll" interface, optimized for mobile devices. Buyers can choose to complete their purchase entirely online or through regional dealerships, making the process seamless and convenient.
