I like the way they used the original green color you had in the 1999-2001 astra

Excellent car. I like it. New Sister, new Frontera, new C3 Aircross, finally we are getting some excellent cars.

I am glad that Opel still makes low profile and somewhat utility oriented vehicles instead of ufo wannabies. I love plastic in the interior in this, easy to clean. On the top of my current consideration list for a new car purchase. Good job Opel.

Digging the retro steel wheels! The hybrid looks the better

It looks like the designers expended so much energy and effort in designing the rear end, that by the time they reached the front, they were too exhausted to be creative and just stuck the dull and unimaginative fascia found on all Opel models.

Thank you, its the first time I see it being tested properly. I ordered the hybrid version some months ago. The only thing I hate is the waiting on the delivery.

The old Frontera, derived from Isuzu, was by no means a heavy-duty off-roader, but you could take it on dirt paths without any trouble. This new one is just another SUV—I wouldn’t dare take it off the tarmac. That said, I do like the painted steel wheels; those oversized alloys are just unnecessary unsprung weight.

What's going on with steel wheels ?. I can imagine them in two or three years time when the rust starts to set in mixing with the white paint🤔. Takes me right back to the 1980s😂

Even the seats look like Citroen seats with the bold white stripe.

2:18 it should be said that this car's platform can indeed fit 7 seats as is the case with the Citroen eC3 aircross in the Indian market, the lot of us in Europe have to wait at least 18 months and be told how greatful we are

Great review Mark, like the car looks good and a decent price in the UK. Big question on the petrol hybrid model have they replaced the rubber belt with a chain? Had the original Frontera Sport and loved it.

Looks a lot smarter with black roof and proper alloys. A comprehensive review as always Mark!

I still drive my 2004 Frontera B (yes, they made the B till '04) but I'm not yet tempted to trade it in for either of these... Its funny that it's ligher than the old one, that came in at 1830 kg empty! That should tell you something about build quality..😂

That set with the steel wheels will grab the defender audience who can’t afford or don’t trust JLR

Why do you have Opel in Irland? When I visited the island some years ago it felt quite strange to see a RHD Opel without a Vauxhall badge. 🤔

Thanks for the review. Easy enough to recommend the hybrid, but the EV is cleaner of course. Maybe that was worth a mention? Maybe I missed it.

The Frontera starts at £23, 495 in the UK (€28.4K) which is fantastic value. This would have been better as two videos, I’m not remotely interested in anything with a combustion engine. As for weight, I’ve never found it an issue in a BEV, sounds like the Frontera just needs a bit more horsepower

Any hope you'll get your hand on a DS8 to review?

If I can get steel wheels and lumbar support on the same car for under €25k I could be interested. Question: is the 1.2 engine a wet belt?
