How to Make a Wood Candy Machine | DIY Dispenser

Make your childhood dreams come true by creating a simple and elegant desktop candy-dispensing machine from off-the-shelf dimensional lumber. I used walnut, but the size and shape is easily customizable to fit whatever treats you'd like. Build one for yourself, or put together a couple for a great, universal gift idea.

A great idea. If I may add - I would make the bottom part out of thicker material and then use a router to make a little bowl like space, so that the round candy doesn't run away :)

Quick answer for any and all hand tools that helped me a lot is Paul Sellers. I’m just seeing some snide remarks that are not called for as woodworkers and Makers community is the best. For making cleaner mortises or for any cuts using chisels, use an exacto knife or utility blade knife to score the outline instead of a pencil. They make specific knives called a marking knife for just this purpose. Much more accurate and severs the fibers resulting in a much cleaner edge.

May I suggest watching some Paul Sellers YouTube videos on how to cut clean lines with a chisel. He's is a Master at the whole hand tool thing. I found using some of his techniques helped a great deal. Awsome project, I'm thinking of making one of these as well for chocolate coverd coffee beans. Cause not only do I have a sweet tooth, I also have a caffeine habit. 😜
