Thank you for all the comments! I wanted to address that this carving was not intended to be "Mary" but just me practicing to carve a female face. I recently posted my actual carving of Mary if you'd like to check it out. Thanks!

One of the beautiful things about creating an image of Mary is that no one knows what she looked like. Your rendition is amazing!

I can confirm that carving women and children is extra difficult, especially when they fight back. I recommend sticking to carving wood. 👍

My mind does not even compute carving in general. The tak8ng away to create just boogles my mind. You did great!

Carving honestly sounds like a fun skill to learn. Maybe one day I’ll have to try it

A women’s face can be as angular or blunt as anyone else’s, same with a child to some degree. It’s definitely still a challenge. I’m glad you haven’t let it hold you back.

I hope to continue to see more of your videos. Your voice is very calming. Your art is always impressive and often stunning. Much love to you, my good man 🙏🏽

I could watch you do this every second, every step of the way, in person, and still assume it’s magic. Incredible.

women aren’t just like naturally delicate, women and mens faces can be so many things

That's so beautiful it kind of reminds me of like a Native American woman with the high cheekbones

I just wanted to say that for your first time carving a woman's face, you did an excellent job! 👏 👍 it really looks great!

Your Mary looks like indigenous American, and I LOVE that.

Just saw a reply where you explained *THIS* isn't the Mary, but rather a practice at the female face. Still love it, and could become a huge market for you.

It's amazing, though I know next to nothing about wood carving it's always fun to watch people grow in their respective trades and hobbies. I can't wait to see further improvements in the future.

women don't have to be always delicate, we can be bold too. you don't need to give all of them small noses or small chins! can't wait to see more of your female sculptures

I'm jealous, as, before I had all my tools stolen from me, I used to LOVE whittling, chiseling and refining a piece until it's finally finished, and it feels that kind of "warm" feeling when you hold it in your hands.

Sorry I swear I'm not crazy, just nostalgic, lol. Thank you very much for sharing!

As an artist, anyone who says something like "it's too hard to do X, " usually that's just a limitation on that particular artist. With the right mindset and patience, you can accomplish almost anything in art.

Just like the lady from MT who collects random pieces of driftwood and makes the most AMAZING horse sculptures I've ever seen. You'd thing it's impossible to make anything out of drift wood. But she definitely proved me wrong.
