I clicked on this video expecting not to like it because I thought there are no “rules” to watches, but this a really good list of rules. Some rules I would like to add are

1) buy the watch YOU like. Not the one all the celebrities like or the one your friends like or the best “deal/discount.” If you don’t like it, don’t buy it

2) when looking at more expensive watches (manual wind, perpetual motion, spring drive) learn about how to properly operate and care for the watch. I’ve never had to go to a watch repair shop because I learned to look after my own watches.

3) really simple one - make sure your watch is accurate. Obviously the time needs to be right but for example if you have a date complication make sure the date is correct.

Rule 1. Wear watch on opposite hand of dominate hand
Rule 2. Wear a watch that matches the occasion. See rule 7.
Rule 3. Place/position watch behind the wrist bone
Rule 4. Ensure the watch fits the wrist. Not too tight, not too loose.
Rule 5. Ensure the watch face fits the wrist (so unless you have large wrist never buy a Jacob and Co.) See rule 7.
Rule 6. Never wear a fake watch. See rule 7.
Rule 7. Never buy a watch you can't afford. See rule 5.

This is why I prefer wearing watches with a rubber strap, and as a left-handed, I always feel better/comfortable wearing watches below my right wrist bone

Interesting but I would not say these are hard fast rules. I prefer the classic vintage Omegas of the 60's and 70's and they are all 34mm. That's been the standard for men for most of the 20th Century. Not feminine. But I also like to wear my watch higher up, above the wrist bone because it feels comfortable and looks better in my opinion. It does not obscure my wrist movement at all either. I am aware this is not considered the proper/best method but if it feels better this way then that is best. Maybe it's because I have a smaller 34mm that it works. Lastly, I'm right-handed and wear it on my right hand. So that is another rule I broke. It is right to rebel, as Mao once said. P.S. I do wear it higher right past the wrist bone, I just noted looking at my watch. But it is high up, right next to it.

I have way more skinny lean wrists . No watch fits me well and it goes beyond adjustable place it make me to drill an extra hole to get my wrist size . HELP ME WITH THIS PLEASE .
