Milwaukee M12 FUEL Compact Cut Off Tool 2522-21XC

See Article here:

The New Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3-inch compact cut off tool is a “Jack of all trades, master of none!”  It was designed to be a compact, multi-material, cutting tool that operates on the M12 platform.

Overall Impression

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3-inch compact cut off tool is a well-balanced, durably designed, one-handed cutting and cut-off tool. Having the ability to cut in either direction and to reverse the blade rotation is a great feature!

This little tool is impressive to say the least, and to quote #TBBCrew member Ethan Bickford:

This little guy is a total problem solver, it's like when the oscillating multi-tool came out. There are cruder, faster methods, but this little guy allows some finesse and it definitely solves problems!

No matter how you look at this tool, there will be times where it will save you time, and allow you to get into spots that would normally be difficult with other cutting tools. We feel that this cutoff tool is an excellent supplemental, problem solving tool that will increase your options to get things done on your projects.

They need to bring out a M18 version of this because i bet we would see them everywhere on a lot of job sites. Reverse function is innovation and thats what we like Milwaukee for

I just got one of these little cut-off saws and I used it Sunday for removing one tile from the shower. I used shroud primarily to control the depth of the cut so that I would not over cut and destroy the tile backer board underneath. It worked GREAT!!! The line of sight to the blade as it got near the edges was excellent with the shroud, and the dust collection actually worked. And I heard Rob say the speed on tile was slow, but I found it went through the tile easily. I am a tool hog and I am sure it will become well used in my arsenal of carpentry. Now where the heck is it going to live in the van?

I'd love to see Milwaukee make diamond coated blades thick enough for removing all sizes of grout lines.

If it worked as well as I'm thinking along with that dust extractor it would make removing old grout easier than ever.

Its definitely got the power for that task.

M12 is a great platform. I have this saw and use it primarily for cutting small metal pieces for metal art. Easy one hand operation for making accurate cuts. I also use it for cutting 18 gauge sheet metal patterns. This is the saw to own!

Great presentation (as always). You’ll wonder how you did without this little tool. Your grinder will get lonely, especially for small jobs or working in tight spaces. I just bought a set of 36-tooth wood cutting blades (knock off brand). These work, but you’d best pay attention while using, even with the dust shroud.

Great review as always! Thank you. Have many Milwaukee tools, but I'll just stick with my angle grinder for cutting metal, multi tool with tile blade and wet saw for tile and tin snips for sheet metal. If it had the wood cutting ability I would have been much more interested.

Great and honest review. I think this is well suited for hvac work and possibly for cutting tile backer board. It seemed that cutting tile was better left to a wet saw or grinder. The review really gave the viewer a good sense of this tool's capability, so great job.

Rob, this thing works great with the dremel sawmax wood/plastic blades for cutting wood. Been using it to pretrim cedar shakes on inside and outside woven corners before I finish with the block plane.

I have 3 of these tools 1 is a orginal cut off tool the second one I have was converted to a 3/8 by 13 inch finger belt sander and the third one I have was converted to a 1/2 by 18 inch finger belt sander I wish this tool had a variable speed trigger over the its on or its off I also agree seems kinda under powered very underwhelming on power do love the power as a finger sander but not powerful enough on certain cutting tasks

I want to do a few of consults, according your experience, What do you think about safety concerns related with this tool? what is the main difference between this one and angle grinders?Could be this cut off tool a safer option than angle grinders?

Thanks

A little late to the review, but as usual, excellent objective review that your readers can trust. Would this be an appropriate tool to remove grout on tile flooring?
