Leaving February 5th, 2024, Army Reservist, 25B. I've been running recently in hopes to get use to at LEAST cardio activities. Pray for me 💪🏻

From an old vet here are some survival tips:

Yes, your first night will be strange and for some, difficult. Buck up. You are no longer at home so get over it.

One day at a time. Don’t take the long view. Deal with today.

Don’t draw attention to yourself. Stay in the middle, be low profile.

Don’t volunteer.

Don’t be a screw-up.

Develop military bearing.and courtesy.

Show some hustle.

Understand everyone goes through this.

Basic and BCT are not intended to be a good time.

You will survive the gas chamber and your rifle does not kick.

Give everything your best effort, especially written tests.

Now you are well armed to deal with basic. I’d say “enjoy” but that would be BS. Just deal with it and move on. This is just one hurdle in the Army experience.

Biggest tip for anyone army or not. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE. It’s ok if you mess up it’s normal but if you mess up the same thing again or a third time then it’s a deficiency which will require more negative attention towards you.

I’m a 26yr old leaving June 3rd, 2024 to Ft Jackson as an 25H E-4, this day by day breakdown of when the ACFT’s are given helps me understand just how soon I’ll need to be ready. The rucks as well. Thank you for this free info

Always give 110% future warriors. You will be tested for hardship for sure. If you grew up hard, you shouldn’t have any issues. If you grew up soft, you gonna be challenged. Long hours, long days, and long wait time. Stay focus and you will be alright. I lost 10 pounds and I learned how to eat right thru the chow hall. My first time eating grits, sausage gravy and cornbread. Till today, every time I eat those food, it reminds me of basic training dining facility. I will pray for all future Soldiers for their safety and success. This video is very informative. Thank you for this. In God We Trust 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Don’t over think guy. Shits easy just do everything at 110% and look forward to each chow & you’ll be solid. That was 10yrs ago. I know for a fact it’s easier now .

Graduated May 2022, actually from Leonard Wood where these videos were taken from.
If you're going soon and nervous, just keep your heads up and take it a day at a time. It's gonna be slow as hell early mornings late nights and long days with little sleep but if I can do it, so can you. Also the dfac over there at Leonard Wood is fire :D

I graduated from basic training in Oct/1978. I will admit that Basic Combat Training is a lot more complex than when I went through. Soldiers get a lot more out of it today. Probably have a bigger sense of accomplishment after they complete it.

Man thank you so much for this video. It helps take the edge off. I'm shipping to bct this Monday at leonard wood. I'm 27, never ran a mile in my life and I barely made the body fat index required for enlisting (25%). I know it'll be hard but as long as the drills don't give up on me I will not give up either. See you after I'm done

Thank you for this video! I’m Utah National Guard, 13B. Headed to BCT and AIT at Fort Sill on May 21st. I’ll turn 32 on May 20th and am excited for this new opportunity. Again, this video has been great for me in my preparation and knowing what more I can do before I leave. 💪🏽 Thanks again!

Thank you for this information. My son is a few weeks into BCT. This gives us a real life look at what he's doing. This video is very informative and laid out well.

Just got out of basic. This video was incredibly accurate. It gave me a great idea of what to expect and how to handle it. The only thing different is that my forge was 4 days instead of 3, and we did nic on the first night instead of the last.
