Even with all the Mario news during this Direct, this was the game that I literally flipped out excitedly for. The fact that Daisy is playable, we get all these new powerups, the art style looks nice yet trippy, and it comes out in a few short months!

God, the artstyle looks so good, unlike anything I've ever seen in a 2D Mario game before. This is what 2D Mario needed, after years of what pretty much felt like the same thing with the New Super Mario Bros games. Also, gotta love Daisy being a playable character, I'm so so happy about that.

I’m glad Daisy’s back in a main game again. Also it’s cool that the series is moving beyond NSMB but not dropping the co-op gameplay, as that was super fun. Definitely looks like it’ll be a good time.
